PARAMPARA Marketing Outlet at Pilikula

Marketing is an important component in this project.  After the trainings, candidates either join with the existing production units as wage earners or get engaged in self-production. Since all these crafts are traditional crafts, which need extensive experience in production for producing quality products, the basic training received alone will not be enough for them to produce quality products.  Hence they join existing units for gaining that much needed experience.  However, under this project, we provide marketing support for these units and also for the trainees, since marketing is a major problem for all these traditional products.

Pilikula has already opened a retail-marketing outlet at Pilikula for selling these products.  Sales are encouraging.  Besides this, Pilikula has also participated in 3 major exhibitions and in future also participating in various trade fairs and exhibitions which will be a routine exercise for marketing these products.

Under this project Pilikula is also encouraging individual units to do their own marketing. Seminars are being organized to them.

Exhibition cum sales center “PARAMPARA” was established in February 2007. All types of products of Artisan village are displayed and marketed in ‘parmpara’.
