ಪಿಲಿಕುಳ ನಿಸರ್ಗಧಾಮದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಣ್ಣ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆರೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ:6.12.2016 ರಂದು ಶಿಲಾನ್ಯಾಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ವಲಯದ ಶಾಸಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ. ಜೆ. ಅರ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಶಿಲಾನ್ಯಾಸ ನೆರವೆರಿಸಿದರು.

A two Days Nature Awareness Programe for B.Ed. Students of Srinivas College of Education, Mangalore. The camp was inaugurated by Sri. Vijay Kumar I.F.S, Member Secretary, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bengaluru.

Summer Camp – 2015
For the first time, a Nature Awareness Camp for children was planned at Pilikula from 19.04.2015 to 25.04.2015.This program, ChinnaraSambrama – 2015 was inaugurated on 19th by Sri S.A. Prabhakara Sharma, Executive Director, Pilikula. About 60 High School students registered for the camp which was planned for developing creative abilities in children. Various sessions are going on now and the concluding function will be on April 25th .
Nature Awareness Programme
A two day Nature Awareness Prorgram for B.Ed. students of Gokarnanatheshwara College of Education, Mangalore, was conducted at Pilikula from April 14 – 17, 2015. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. JayaprakashNayak, Senior Scientific Officer, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board(KSPCB), Mangalore region. Dr K.V. Rao, Director, Pilikula Regional Science Centre, presided over the function. Guests from the Management of the College and the Principal also participated in the program.
Celebration of BisuKani at Dr. Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisargha Dhama
“Bisu Kani” a traditional coastal event of welcoming new year, was held at Guthumane,Pilikuala on 14.04.2015 Tuesday. Bisu Kani means arrangements of Fruits, Vegetables, Rice, Tubers ,Brinjal, cucumber, Sauthe, Cheenikayi, Ivy gourd and fruts such as Jack fruit,Banana,Cashew apple,Coconut,Jumbu nerale,Mango,Kumkum,Hebbalasu. bread fruit among others . Arecanut, the part and parcel of local life, was also part of the Kani.
Prof.B.A Viveka Rai, former Vice Chairman of Karnataka University, Hampi, explained the importance of the celebretion of BisuKani. It was attended by Sri. A B Ibrahim ,I.A.S .Deputy commissioner D.K District,Chief Executive Officer Smt. P.I .Srividhya I.A.S, MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati I.A.S, Sri Sharanappa I.P.S, S.P., D.K District Sri Mohammed Nazeer Commissioner,Mangaluru Urban Development Athority, Sri. Anil kumar, Deputy General Manager,BIRD,NABARD, Sri. Pradeep Kumar Kalkoora,President, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Sahithya Parishath, Mangaluru.
Sri Uday Kumar Shetty, D.G.M. ,Regional office, Vijaya Bank Mangaluru was also present.
Rangoli Competition was also held as part of Bisu Kani celebration which was sponsored by Vijaya Bank

Kudremukh Tree Park
In order to boost greenery in the city, a tree park will come up in an area of 15 acres at Dr. Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisargadhama, Mangalore. The project is founded by Kudremukh Iron Ore Company under CSR initiative. The KIOCL has sanctioned Rs. 52lakhs for the project to grow 7500 trees belong to rare and endemic species. The project launching was done by Hon’ble Minister for Forests,Environment & Ecology and Dist. Incharge Minister Sri B. Ramanatha Rai on 04-08-2014.
